such the helper!

tanner is such the helper...he has his own broom now-just his size. hopefully it will help us avoid the major meltdowns we've been having when i put the real broom away.
and sunday lance was outside mowing the yard. usually tanner stands at the back door watching, but he decided sunday that he'd help with the yard work. he followed lance everywhere!

Laughing over Limes

we had a great monday! we had absolutely nothing planned and tman decided he needed to wake up at 6:15. i think he just wanted to see lance before he left for work. after breakfast i mentioned showering to tanner. next thing i know, he's running down the hall and i find him IN the shower (he's never gotten in by himself before) and reaching up wishing he was tall enough to turn it on. he has come to love shower time, and to tell you the truth, i don't mind it at all. we usually have lots of fun playing in the water and with all the shampoo bottles! and i don't have to worry about where he is or what he's getting into.
we ended up heading over to steph and weston's to play. tanner was so excited when we pulled up and i told him we were at weston's...and weston got a big grin on his face when steph told him tanner was there. i love that they're becoming good friends! the boys had so much fun playing chase! they were belly laughing and squealing! it's perfect-tanner loves to push the lawn mower and chase and weston loves to have people chase him with the mower. they went round and round and round the kitchen table and the living room!
more fun with bubbles and a dance party in weston's room!
funny moment today-when i went into tanner's room after his nap, he was sitting in his crib grunting. it was still dark and i was a little worried he was in pain. after i turned on the light, i realized he was fine...he was just sitting on part of his binky and was trying to pull it out from under every time he was pulling on it he was grunting. hilarious! once i gave him his binky he was mr snuggles and just laid his head on my shoulder for a long it!

this afternoon while i was working on dinner, tanner found a great toy - a LIME! he pulled a lime off the counter and decided it was a fun, bouncy ball. i decided to just go with it so i just pulled another one from the fridge to use and let him have fun. he ran around laughing hysterically as he threw it across the room (and he tried throwing it to the dogs too-dakota and gizmo were sweet to tolerate his game of flying lime).
uh-ooooooooh...where is it?!?! maybe under the table (amongst the flip flops, tennis shoes, kleenex, water bottle, book and cup of milk-yes, that's how our house rolls these days!)...
stopping to "taste" the lime...and then back to throwing!
and on a totally different topic...the two pictures i took yesterday. tanner so excited and proud to give his daddy a present (that he had already started opening for lance...yes, he's quite the helper!). and tanner and poppa at dinner...poppa was entertaining him while i finished my dessert!

happy father's day!

happy father's day to my hubby and baby's daddy! lance is such a great daddy for tman! they always have lots of fun. whether it's playing chase or playing outside or playing at bath time or playing with new toys (which lance is a pro at buying), lance makes a perfect playmate and teacher and daddy for the little guy. it has been so much fun watching them together. i wouldn't want to be raising tanner with anyone else!

my favorite pics of tanner and his daddy over the last 17+ months...

he took to this "daddying" thing pretty fast (thank goodness he rolls with the punches a little better than me)...first picture of father and son.
he's good at snuggling when tanner was little (or now when he'll sit still)...
he made tanner a snowman when he was barely a month old...and then a year later was willing to get all bundled up and "play" in the snow to make fun memories...
he can always get a huge smile or laugh...he's just always that much fun!
shares his ipad with tanner every day...he's even taught tanner how it works. they enjoy ipad time together!
daddy is FUN! pushing tman around the house or around the yard...over and over and over again! and enduring the heat of the park for lots of sliding and fun and smiles.
he's also is a pro at being silly and goofy with tanner!
he's great at teaching him to pick blackberries and how to shoot hoops. there are going to be many hours and days of shooting hoops in our house. i love this pic...tanner is definitely looking up to his daddy in lots of ways!
and daddy is such a hard worker. he works hard to provide so tanner can play all day and i can play all day with him. he even taught him how to use the phones at the office!
my new favorite pic of tman and his daddy! love it!
happy father's day to the best daddy tanner could ever ask for...and the best partner his mommy could ask for! thanks for being such a great dad to our little guy!

tiny tot time with the 3 musketeers

we decided to try out tiny tot time at collin creek. the boys didn't want to sit still for story time so we just ended up playing in the play area. tanner had fun going up the much more exciting than going down, right?! or he'd turn around and go halfway down the slide on his tummy...and then walk/crawl the rest of the way.

"hi, mom...i see you!"
and apparently tanner would have liked the song part...he got into "if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!"
after the play area got a little too crowded we headed to the fountains...
and then the 3 musketeers' favorite lunch spot-chickfila!
tanner and noah were practicing sharing...the fries were flying back and forth.
and of course he had to smile for steph...showing his food/smiling...same difference to tman.
thursday night we met tanner's girlfriend, sadie, for dinner. the highlight was chasing the ducks. i wish i had gotten a video, but he'd run after them pointing and yelling "duh, duh, duh, duh." i think that's his version of duck. and not to worry-no ducks were harmed in the taking of these photos-he never got too close. his first game of duck, duck, goose, and it was hilarious! he was so excited about the ducks!
